Looking for recommendations on decent lakes/rivers to fish with a trolling motor. Would prefer MN, WI, SD, or IA. We sold our boat and bought a ten foot pelican bass raider with a trolling motor.

Now that I know BWCA is no motors we will likely go there this fall and rent a canoe, so I am looking for something this May/June.

Feel free to PM me if you would prefer (I realize the internet turns good spots into not so good spots)

Where are you looking to go? And what would you like to fish for? Most of the Minneapolis lakes are electric only and can be fun.

The lakes in Savannah state park near McGregor are electric motors only. They have a couple multi species lakes and a lake stocked with stream trout.

Any lake 800 acres or less you could easily fish with just a trolling motor. I think it would be fun to hit some of the Minneapolis electric only lakes.

This looks like a nice area. Maybe we will give it a try. I just cant picture myself driving to Minneapolis for a “vacation”

Ottertail County, Hubbard County, Becker County, Douglas County among a few others each have hundreds of small lakes you could fish with electric only.

If you are restricted to just a trolling motor you want to be on a lake that only allows trolling motors-If you can launch that thing w/o a launch then look for lakes w/o a launch, these lakes will have more and bigger (average) fish.
