Looking for opinions on a good butcher in south metro to get sticks made. I love von Hanson s summer sausage but sticks are more useful. Thinking Hagbergs in lake elmo because we love their jalapeño cheese beef sticks but not sure. Been a while since I had the opportunity so wanted to check with you guys. Thanks.

Hometown Meats off of 80th and Cahill in Inver Grove Heights did our sticks last season and they are fantastic! We did use Greg’s Meats in year’s past and we like Hometown better and they are closer. A cleaner building than Greg’s too.

Hometown is little more spendy but taste great.
Von Hansons sticks are great also love the hot and any one of the choices of cheese mixed in. Gregs does a good job also did have some brats from there and they where very taste.

That’s called character in the meat processing business Sharon. A little dirt don’t hurt ya. Look at all the dirt you probably ingested as a child….and then look at who you’ve become today.

I cannot overstate how impressed I am with Hometown Meats. My stuff was done in less than a week and the sticks are the best I have ever had. The ring bologna is exceptional as well. We chose the Spartan sticks which consist of ingredients from several other sticks. Magnificent.
