Good bite on the croix Friday

Took the morning off from work to enjoy the nice weather Friday. I was treated to a good walleye bite rigging crawlers and leeches. First spot I fished was loaded with short fish. After an hour and a half I finally caught a legal fish. I was already down 2 dozen crawlers. Kept at another 30 minutes and caught another but the number of bites had slowed. I decided to move up river to another good spring area and caught 3 fish in short order with one legal. Fished that area another hour and finished out my limit. Fun morning catching eyes in 15-20 feet of water.

I’m going to get out tomorrow and hopefully miss the storms. I’m going to try and hop around and try some spots I’ve never been on before. My plan is to drag crawlers for the most part. I usually fish Hudson and south but I’m going to head north and try a few different places.
