Golden Gopher Basketball

Well as with any or all (?) Minnesota sports teams, I have learned to temper any real enthusiasm or emotional investment. Lessons learned from now 50 plus years of disappointments, there can be sometimes that little speck of “Gold” hidden amongst all that “dirty” sand.
Always cautious now to have hope, or even mention it!
This year is a good one…Gophers after dominating Nebraska tonight are now 11-6 in the Big10, 22-7 overall. What a turnaround from last year!
Whatever happens here on out, they will start dancing at the NCAA Prom…how far they go??
Enjoy the ride as long as it lasts!

Remarkable turnaround for a team that was putrid last year. This maybe a Viking town but there are a lot of people who feel pretty good when the Gopher basketball team is doing well.

I almost laughed out loud reading the sports section today. Petino was talking about how much fun it was being in the “barn” and the home court advantage it provided. We all know the U will come begging for several million dollars to replace the barn with a brand new building next year. They will tell us how they can’t recruit, can’t get the top line athletes here without a new building. It’s just a joke.

But they are having fun and winning games this year which is great for the kids.

Let’s focus on the B1G Tourney first… I like our current run

Yup… the rumors will be flying about the Barn and Petino leaving…..

What’s really exciting is the fact that the majority of the team will be back next year!!!

Hottest team in town!

As a Badger fan I will say this… If we don’t play better in at least two areas (FT’s & Bench Contribution), they will hand us our butts on Sunday!!!
