Glow Ring for Hummingbird

I have the standard Hummingbird Ice Fishing Set up for my Helix 7 G3 and am running Dakota Lithium this year.

Has anyone found a way to hook up a Vexilar Glow Ring to their Helix Model.

I have not gotten things unpacked out of storage to look over how I could attach so I thought I would shoot out a question to the experts… before hand.

Thanks in advance. Looking forward to the weight difference on the Dakota Lithium this year.

It looks like the glo ring just connects to the battery with alligator clips so that part should be easy. If you’re asking how to connect the actual glo ring to your shuttle, then we’d have to know what your shuttle set up is like. I’m guessing a couple of zip ties or two part epoxy would get you what you’re looking for. might have to get creative if you want to be able to swivel the ring and make sure it fits in a 5 gallon bucket.

I don’t plan on removing the glow ring from my shuttle so I just put the glow ring cables and Humminbird cables into one connector. I screed the ring bracket right to the shuttle.

I just spliced my red and black gator clips with the power cable red and blacks that go from my unit to the battery.

I run the Ice Defense on my helix setup now and they come with connectors that allow for two sets of red and blacks to connect to the battery. Also make a splitter cable to I can run both the Ice Defense and Glow Ring to the battery on one power cable. I’m sure you can buy those little double connectors at the hardware store.

I used a FL-28 pro pack and mounted my Helix 7 to that. It has the glow ring mounts with a switch clipped to the amped lithium battery.
I spent over a year looking for the cleanest looking shuttle and decided on this setup.

. Looks nice . What kind of run time can you get with that setup? It looks like a battery killing setup.

It would be if I wasn’t running a lithium battery. I get about 8-10 hrs with lithium.
