I was just wondering if any members own one and what are there opinions on the build quality. Went to the Carlton county fair and looked at the 17EXP. Looked really nice but for my type of fishing I need to have my 4 wheeler along. The wife is really wants one for year round use so I was looking at the 18THEXP.

I have a glacier but it’s not a toy hauler. Build quality seems good to me but I have not been in many others to compare with. Only thing I wish mine had was a insulated floor and I may just do do it myself this fall before this ice season.

That is also one of the things I will do first. Insulated floor is a must have for me. I also would like to coat the frame with Por15 before it see’s any salt and snow.

Coltrain27 what year is yours ?

What does a brand new 18’ glacier toy hauler go for this year?

The price they were showing for the 2023 18THEXP was $47000 and it was $40000 for the 17EXP. Both did have options added. Not sure what the actual price you could get the dealer to come down to but I would expect at least 10%. The more I look at the 17EXP the more I think that I will buy that over the Toy Hauler. Just don’t like the layout of the trailer for year round use.

They all took a huge jump in price in the last 2 years. It’s crazy, the same thing I have is like 10k more than what I paid! moon

At $47k I see why your wife wants to use it year long. That’s a lot of $ for using it 3 or 4 weekends in the winter.

a little off topic but since we are discussing pricing i thought id mention that it seems you can still get home built fish houses for cheap. Ive seen some really nice home built fish houses for at or below 10k – fish houses that ice castle and others would charge 40k for. Now of course you should have concerns about the build quality of a home build but to be honest i have those same build quality questions about what these manufactures put out lol.

The one thing ive heard about home builds though is that they can be difficult to insure. i havent called my agency to confirm that though

And a used home built is more difficult to resell than a name brand.
