PSA for those who want to get a jump on their 2016 food plot chemical supplies, Rural King has 10% off today online (1/1/16) until midnight. Use sale code 112016.

It’s pretty easy to rack up a big chemical bill if you spray more than an acre or two. This is the cheapest source of glyphosate 41% with 15 surfactant that I’ve been able to find in jug sizes. 2.5 gallon jugs for $34.99 before the 10% off, so $31.50 on sale, plus shipping of course. Beats paying $20+ per gallon at big box stores.

Rural King does these sales occasionally, so there might be another chance before spring, but if you want to lock in your supply early, this is a good opportunity to save a few bucks. If you sign up for their email alerts you’ll get sale alerts about every day, but it’s worth it when these 10% off everything sales come. I believe last year they had one good sale on chemicals as well that amounted to 15% off on most.

Thanks for the tip Grouse, unfortunately, I didn’t see it until today. You are correct though, Rural King is the best price I have found.

It was kind of an awkward day for online shopping, I agree. I’ll post another PSA if I seen another good sale that applies to chemicals.

I stopped myself from ordering any more due to storage. I don’t like to let this stuff freeze, so I bring all my chems back to my wood shop for the winter. With the leftovers from last year, I just don’t have any more space to devote to storage.

One last note. Don’t make the mistake I did last year and wait too long to order. I wanted to do one final spray late last summer and Rural King was out of stock. Then when they finally got the gly back in stock it spent a week in transit with UPS beating the shipment like a rented mule and by the time it got to me, both jugs were leaking an I refused delivery. By the time the re-ship would have gotten to me, it would have been too late so I ended up paying $30 for a single gallon to finish spraying. Lesson learned, lock in supply at beginning of year.

Good call, do not let gly freeze or it is supposed to lose a lot of its strength.
