Gearing up for Pike

    I’m going to expand my fly fishing horizons this summer and see if I can find some bigger Pike. I’ve caught them incidentally while Bass fishing, but this time I’m going to use bigger stuff and and target them on purpose. The long snakey tails on these things are called Dragon Tails. They’re about 7 inches long and are supposed to move seductively in the water. Add in the head section and they’re 9-10 inches long. I tied them on Gamakatsu B10-S hooks in 3/0.

    Very nice. Snap them off the bottom on a point in 8’ of water and hang on!
