Gas stoves

We just bought a new Frigidaire Gallery Range with induction cooktop. 100x better than gas or traditional electric stoves. It’s seriously awesome. I can get a whole pot of water to boil in 60 seconds. And when I lift the pot of the stove, the stove is only warm to the touch and not scalding hot. The stove senses if a pot is in place and turns off the magnets if it doesn’t sense any cookware. Super decreased risk of burns.

Well alright, sounds like there is a decent electric version then that compares to gas ones.

You keep moving the goalposts but, OK, lets say Trumka Jr wants to ban them. There are FIVE commissioners (with 1 being the Chair) that vote on things. Why are you giving such weight to Trumka Jr’s statement over Hoehn-Saric’s statement? Maybe because you desperately want something to be mad about and no lack of evidence is going to stop you?

I’m not moving goal posts, nor do I really care as we are in our forever home with an awesome gas stove. Since you were insulting and condescending in your OP on this thread, I was just providing the context that this sprang from. You are right nothing has been proposed or issued outside of NY, but there is certainly some legitimacy behind it.

How many of you guys are even old enough to remember who the Trumpkas are? They made their living scamming the rank and file union guys, then Richie got himself elected. The definitions of Sleazy, dirty, corrupt, and dishonest in the dictionaries are all accompanied by a trumpka photo. And you trust him when he backpedaled and said he didn’t want to ban gas ranges? PM me, I’ve got some swampland and a bridge or two for sale.

    Let’s be real.

The Biden administration dangled a carrot for their green agenda and had to walk it back due to the mock and ridicule.

But to some on this board…it was all a Qanon conspiracy.

Sounds like the Energy Secretary Granholm was meeting recently with the CEO of the group that funded the study to justify banning gas stoves..just two radical global climate activists meeting about banning gas stoves with one a member of the POTUS cabinet.

Nothing to see here…move along…just a right wing conspiracy..

I’m really sick of the nut job minority getting their green deal energy agenda passed and shoved down everyone’s throat.

I would like to see some common sense, your green deal allot of times cause more environment damage to produce than then what we’re using at the present time, it may not be causing the damage here in the U.S. but it causing damage to the earth somewhere. just look at the mining for minerals for the batteries used in the EV’s on the road. I did my share of reloading, U.S. put a stop to all mining and smelting of lead because they couldn’t meet the EPA standards on pollution, it’s now outsourced over seas, where there are no restrictions, the demand is still there for product, so by your thinking it must to be okay to pollute at a higher rate as long as it’s not here in the U.S. The carbon foot print to produce green sometimes out weighs what your already using.

I don’t believe you can put common sense in the same sentence with the greenies. They tend to run on emotion, not necessarily what makes sense or factual. If they did they would understand that refrigerators and gas stoves and wash machines are not ruining the environment.

Is this still a right wing conspiracy?? Just asking the lefties on the board..

A new Biden administration “efficiency” rule would effectively ban half of all gas stoves on the U.S. market from being sold, according to an Energy Department projection.

Great question…and if so why are so many far left AG’s signing onto it?

    You guys are exhausting jester

I think you meant to bold reduce in your quote right? Or does that imply a ban too if you read between the lines or whatever roll

I think it’s the cognitive dissonance that is exhausting… toast

What are they advocating for to “reduce the emissions of harmful pollutants from gas stoves”? And if it’s not regulations that would effectively ban (or severely limit access to, and increase the expense of installing) gas stoves, what exactly are the 20+ Democrat legislators and 11 Democrat AG’s goals in drawing up these statements?

How can we go about making every day the fishing opener…effectively axing political parties?

I don’t really partake in the opener hoopla, but I’d gladly pull my boat hundreds of miles away from the already open river to drink beer and make this happen!

No, I read them, but you’ve assured us no one is banning stoves so I’m having a hard time putting it all together. They’re not “banning” gas stoves, they (Dem AG’s and congresspeople) just want CPSC to implement performance standards (increasing cost/hurdles to produce gas stoves), mandate ventilation (aka require hoods be sold/installed with every stove sold), improve the warning label (HA!), launch a public education campaign (who’s paying for that?), and emphasize the importance of transitioning to electric stoves….but they are NOT banning them, just increasing all costs associated with them…and again this issue is such a huge risk, that nearly everyone of these fraud politicians have gas stoves and won’t be switching…

Contrary to what some may believe, I’m neither a Dem or R every day of the year. Just seems to me like one party has gone far off the reservation, and the other one isn’t far behind.

With the new rules and regulations coming out on gas stoves are we going to have to worry about someone breaking in and stealing the catalytic converter off the range hood? devil chased yay

Don’t want to ruin the circlejerk but this whole stupid story is based on the CPSC commissioner saying “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned…” when taking about the indoor air quality effects of gas stoves. Since then There have been numerous statements saying they don’t want to ban them such as the attached image and a white house press conference that said:

“The president does not support banning gas stoves,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at Wednesday’s briefing. “And the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which is independent, is not banning gas stoves. I just want to be very clear on that.”

This is your OP Reef, on January 11th. By May 11th NY state has banned gas stoves, and 10 other AG’s seem to support doing the same (without actually saying the words, so no way to guess, I guess).

I know what I said and it’s been consistent through the whole thread. NY banned gas hookups in new buildings, not stoves specifically since it includes furnaces and water heaters. Berkely CA did the same in 2019, San Francisco in 2020, NYC in 2021. None of those are the CPSC or Federal government trying to ban gas stoves which is what this thread was about.
