Gas Can to Fill Auger?

For filling my auger, I hate these new gas can spouts where you have to push on the spout. The auger is not stable enough laying on the ground, on its own, to take the pressure. What’s a good one gallon gas can I can buy to fill my auger up? Help!!

Why do we have to pay the price for someone being so stupid that they blew themselves up?!

I bought a surecan a few years ago. By far the best gas can I ever used. A little expensive I thought but I won’t buy a different can now I’ve never spilled a drop of gas with it. Look em up, like I said worth every penny!

Anyone make a 1 gallon can? The Surecan seems nice, but I’m looking for a little can.

Look on Youtube, there are many videos for how to rip out the guts of EPA-dictated gas can spouts and turn them into good, old, normal pour spouts.

There are also replacement spouts that you can but that don’t have that stupid spring thing in them.

Also, for small equipment like chainsaws or brush cutters, I carry just enough gas with me in a Sig aluminum fuel bottle. My SiG bottles will fill a chainsaw 3 times, which is about as much cutting as I can do in a day. They seal tight, don’t leak, and are easy to handle. Why carry around gallons of gas if you don’t need it?

I still have an “old style” 1 gal plastic gas container but will switch to the above fuel bottle when I get to that point. I have a 33 ounce size I use for Coleman white gas and they work very well.

This is why I buy up the old cans at garage sales. I’m set for a while. woot

This is what I always use gas is no oxy premium and good oil never have to add or mix oil and I haven not needed an additive at the end of any season and both my augers and weed whip fire right up every season! Little spends but 3 pack of cans will last me a year!

I use the no spill can. I have 1.25 gal., 2.5 gal., and 2 5 gal. cans. They work great. They are a little spendy also. The 1.25 gal. cost about $25 I think.

Another vote for the no spill I bought at Mills Fleet Farm. Excellent control of flow and it’s built kind of squat. I love the 1 gallon size as it keeps the fuel fresh and is what the oil bottles are sized for.

Depending on how much gas you use, trufuel is pretty awesome. Comes in quart cans and is already premixed.

I agree with dan baker. I use tru fuel in my ice auger and weed eater no need for a gas can. Both machines start right up and have never ran so well. It comes premixed and at 92 octane which is great for little engines. You can buy it at lowes, homedepot, ormills fleet farm. You will find it by the weed eaters.

I have all my small 2 stroke motors tuned for the same mix, 1 bottle of Strikemaster oil to 1 gallon of non ethanol no lead premium. Stihl weed trimmer, leaf blower, chainsaw, Partner concrete saw, and Solo powerhead attatched to an 8″ K-Drill. Again, the “no spill” gas can gives precise control… even when using a little gas to douse a brush pile before ” lift-off”

I’ve got an old plastic 2 gal with old spout and mix amsoil 80:1 for ice auger, chain saw, lawn mower, leaf blower and weed wacker. Yes I hate the new ones and spill more gas than with the old ones.

Wow, I didn’t even know about the new gas can problems… I guess my age is showing. I have a 1 gal plastic for 2 strokes, a 2 gal for lawnmower/snowblower and a 5 gal for 4 wheeler. I have not blown up yet..

I have multiple of the new CARB cans and I ended up drilling a hole in the back end and screwed in this vent…

After draining the water in my air compressor holding tank one day, I got the idea to try the exact same valve my tank has and it has worked great.

Yep, Bought mine from Amazon and converted all my cans back to the way they should be

Last summer adding fuel to the pressure washer, I didn’t realize the new “EPA_HOLE” can was under pressure, when I pushed the nozzle against the edge of the gas tank, fuel came out highly pressurized and splashed me in the face.
That is what prompted me to change them all over.
