Just saw a Jay Siemens video on the Striker Plus 4 for ice fishing. Looked like a decent unit from his video. I will be inheriting an old 14′ aluminum boat this spring and am just starting to think about sonar/GPS to rig on it. The Striker 4cv has garmin’s CHIRP sonar, their version of down imaging, and chartplotting capabilities all for around $180. Has anyone tried these units before and can give a recommendation? Are there better units for the money? I’m in Bismarck, ND so will mostly be fishing the river and smaller lakes.
    Thanks!

The only thing I can say is it is probably most recommended unit for kayak fishermen.

I have one for fly in trips to Canada. Great little unit for the price. Can also use them in flasher mode with a different transducer.

I’d highly recommend for the price.
