Garmin shutting off

Last fall I had to repower my boat and I put a new 60hp Suzuki tiller on the back.

With my old motor all was good for 25 years.

Now when I start the Suzuki motor the Garmin shuts off and I need to restart it. I let it go last fall and figured I’d deal with it this spring.
    Now it’s spring.

Any suggestions what I should do to keep my Garmin from shutting down everytime I have to start my motor? Thanks

Not trying to be smart but have the starting battery checked, even though that zuki takes nothing to spin over the battery could be junk.
Or,something missed in the wiring from the battery to the Garmin?? A bad ground comes to mind

My guess is your new motor is a four-stroke and takes more amps to turn over than your previous motor.

Your battery could be getting weak, but I’m guessing your wiring to the graph could be undersized “now” (it may have been sufficient before, but not cutting the mustard with the new motor)

If you’ve ever pull started an equal size HP outboard in a 2-stroke and a 4-stroke, you’ll notice how much harder a four-stroke is to yank. Your battery notices it too, and will cause the voltage to momentarily drop more than a 2-stroke, which is the culprit of your graph shutting down (whether it’s undersized wiring or a deteriorating battery)
