Can’t wait for it….still fingers crossed.
Anyway, one thing to note here: Lowrance and HB are not on the list, great prices there too.
When I see Garmin in the list of items they have, it is bundled with a bunch of wearables, so guessing it is all their fitness stuff.
Randy WinnPosts: 28November 27, 2017 at 8:43 pm #1730804Randy, when you bought the ice package did you get the gt10 transducer with it? Or did you find a place to buy the ice bag alone without a transducer? I think as it stands now I want the ice bag with the gt8 transducer… I dont see that as an option anywhere.
Ya, I bought the whole package, not just the bag. It came with the gt10 and as far as I know that’s the only way they sell it.

I haven’t had a chance to use it at all. I live in Nebraska and it’s looking like it’s going to be a while before we get any ice. It was 70 degrees the other day and still in the 50’s for highs all week.

Robert DuncanPosts: 68November 28, 2017 at 5:48 pm #1731042So I have the PS30 down in the boat and love it.
I still wanted a unit for the front of the boat for depth and maybe some mapping but wanted that transducer as well for some open water ideas I have.
papaperchPosts: 168November 30, 2017 at 8:08 am #1731415Robert Duncan- I have both the 360 and the panoptix. I would buy the panoptix again but not the 360. The 360 is a great structure finder but my side imaging does that. Identifying fish is still guessing game to me with the 360. The panoptix if it moves it is fish no guessing.
Bought the 360 first year and a half later the panoptix ps 30 then the ps21. My 360 is now a ” hood ornament ” as it is rarely used on boat.
Others may have different opinion due to the method or species they fish. I primarily panfish and mostly anchor or slow troll with Ipilot .
Robert DuncanPosts: 68November 30, 2017 at 7:43 pm #1731661PapaPerch – Since you own both, I have some questions for you.
1. How do you tell if there is perch or walleye on the bottom with Panotix?
2. Structure looks hard to identify on the Panotix since it appears from videos that everything is moving.
3. When using down scan, do you find the Garmin good enough since it doesn’t have a true down scan, but interpolated?
4. 360’s turn, Is it me or is Humminbird more interested in showing structure than fish?
5. It seems that with the 360, if you can see fish, you don’t know how deep they are, is that correct? Thanks
wall3y3Posts: 18December 1, 2017 at 8:33 am #1731799I just got the Panoptix Ice Bundle. I’ll post some reviews once she gets on the ice, and I think it’ll be a great tool but oh-my-goodness is it heavy. 17lbs 14oz!
December 1, 2017 at 10:19 am #1731851glad you got the cyber monday deal, i’m scared to invest in this technology because it’s so new…the speed at which tech moves this will probably look like Atari in a year or two…there’s still too much interference & clutter on the display for my tastes…
Polarisman2161Posts: 11December 3, 2017 at 9:27 pm #1732536I swapped out the stock battery with a Dakota Lithium 12v 10ah battery and it dropped the weight down to 12lb. Feels much more manageable than the 17.8lb!
December 3, 2017 at 11:03 pm #1732555I would agree. This is by far the downfall of this setup.
One thing I was thinking about then using this unit. Are you really going to be using the panoptix when actually fishing or just searching. For me if I am really on them, I’m going to be using the chirp transducer and pulling that out of the water. What I want to know is if I don’t have panoptix selected is the transducer still powered and drawing power?
I still really bought this unit for open water fishing the ice fishing usage for me is a bonus.
Robb BerscheidPosts: 1December 24, 2017 at 9:09 am #1738031It still draws power unless you go into the settings while on the panoptix page and turn off sonar transmit. The same goes for the ice ducer.
wall3y3Posts: 18December 24, 2017 at 4:58 pm #1738152Now that I’ve used the Panoptix on the ice about 3 or 4 times, I’ve found that I’m using it a different way than I thought I would. I use the LiveVu Forward for scouting (find edge of weeds 40′ away) and then once I’m at a location I switch to LiveVu Down and use that for jigging instead of using the ice transducer. In about 15′ of water it reads 10′ left or right – which is really awesome to see a minnow on a deadstick start swimming away and watching a pike swim in at it!
I still need to switch to a lithium battery – as this sure isn’t set up for hole hopping!
Trebor MorganPosts: 3February 11, 2018 at 8:24 pm #1751556Had a Garmin GPS back in the day. When I heard about Panoptix I started my research. In my opinion, Garmin product listings online are by far the most complicated to shop/review. Garmin, I like the sound of what other customers say about your products, but I feel like I need a consultant to help me decide the model to fit my needs/budget. I’ve owned marcum, vexilar, humminbird, and Lowrance. It was fairly simple to decide a product of theirs to fit my needs.
Garmin Marketing team, please simplify the online customer shopping experience (maybe that should be directed to the sales team as well). A quick bullet with differentiators of each model would be most helpful. Danny Thompson, any feedback to help your buyers? Thanks.
