Is it just me or does this completely take the fun out of fishing?

I don’t find drilling dozens of holes a lot of “fun”.

I don’t find it fun either, but I would feel very lazy using this and lazy fishing doesn’t seem fun to me either.
January 31, 2017 at 6:47 pm #1670227I think you’re still going to drill plenty of holes but this could help you greatly in deciding where to drill rather than guessing which direction a school of fish has moved. Wish I had one.

Then don’t buy it.
I think its great. I don’t have the dough for one right now, but when the price comes down a bit you can pretty much guarantee that I will be getting it or some variation of it as the competition gets there.
I remember fishing with a buddy on LOW and his one uncle had a fishing buddy that he had in his hole. This was 20 plus years ago. I think it was kind of funny at the time, but it worked great and he could actually see the fish moving up the break in the evening and we plotted our houses to ambush them. Similar principle here. The bummer with that was it was only like 3 feet long so by the end of the season it was almost useless because it could hardly reach below the ice and be useable within arm’s reach.nhammInactiveRobbinsdalePosts: 7348February 2, 2017 at 8:59 am #1670615Price tag sucks. Would a guy be able to loop his cord to get a 45degree with a regular transducer and essentially achieve somewhat the same results?

Though I have never tried it or know anyone that has, I don’t see a reason why it wouldn’t work. You know, simply swinging the transducer while down the hole will often pick up things farther to the side, I don’t see why a skimmer transducer mounted more vertically wouldn’t achieve the same results. I think I have an extra skimmer lying around, I should just try it for fun.
nhammInactiveRobbinsdalePosts: 7348February 2, 2017 at 9:27 am #1670624I’ve tried swinging the ducer as well with zero luck. But then I run the 2d so maybe the lag just doesn’t pick up like a flasher?
They sell those brackets just for this. They’ve been posted here before, cheap and worth a shot from what I can remember.

So how do weedlines show up on this?
