    The ultimate goal is to get your Livescope bundle as light as possible, lets use this thread to share different ways to shed excess weight. Do NOT include the pole system you use, just the bundle/case you carry in 1 hand.

    Here’s my Livescope Ice Bundle setup:
    Case & Shuttle = Garmin XL Bag and shuttle (010-12676-05)
    Transducer = LVS32-IF
    Screen = 10″ Ultra 106sv
    Battery = Amped 18ah
    Cables = Garmin ice bundle cable harness (010-12676-40) and short female network cable (010-12531-10)
    Covers = Basstank LVS32 cover, Custom foam macbook cover for screen

    TOTAL BUNDLE WEIGHT = 23.6 lbs

    ** This same exact setup (but with an Echomap 93UHD) weighs = 20.2 lbs **

    Did the cover help as far as closing the bag on the 106 ?

    This is the case I purchased (I removed the zippers and cut 1/2 of one side to allow for the cables sticking out behind the screen) – https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q3PDX9P/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

    It does seem to be a little easier to close as the foam forms around the screen with some cushion, it was a cheap $8 try… i’ll test it out over the winter and eventually figure out what (Garmin plastic or fabric cover) works best…

    Here’s mine:

    Case & Shuttle = Summit L Bag and Summit shuttle (including glow cup/arm)
    Transducer = LVS32
    Screen = Echomap UHD 93sv
    Battery = Amped 30ah wide
    Cables = Garmin ice bundle cable harness (010-12676-40) and short female network cable (010-12531-10)
    Covers = Summit LVS32 transducer cover, Garmin screen cover

    TOTAL BUNDLE WEIGHT = 23.0 lbs

    I’m curious what the weight would be for the following bundle:

    Case & Shuttle = Garmin XL Bag and shuttle (010-12676-05)
    Transducer = LVS12
    Screen = 10″ Ultra 106sv
    Battery = Amped 18ah
    Cables = Garmin Power cable
    Total Weight = ??

    I’ll piece it together once my LVS12 is delivered…

    Could it be possble to create a relatively very light Livescope holehopper? (albeit only a 30 degree cone angle)
    This type of bundle might make more sense for one of the lighter 3d shuttles sold by Private 3D printers?

    BassTank LS cover is on sale $19.99

    The thing I liked about the Basstank cover vs other covers is that they have little dimples inside the cover that keeps the cover’s plastic off the sensitive transducer beam sections…

    Sounds like can fish with it on. Can or do you? Will it fit while mounted to to Garmin ice pole?

    “as well as other scenarios like fishing in shallow grass and brush where you don’t want to run the risk of scratching the lenses on your Livescope transducer.”

    I did not think so but was confused by description.
    Maybe it means while stowed along gunnel of boat.

    can somebody weigh their empty Garmin XL bag with shuttle?

    I can’t find the spec online and really don’t want to disasemble my bundle to find it out… I’m looking to find the weights for every piece of a Livescope bundle to mix & match for the best combo…

    My Panoptix setup with the PS22 (not a Livescope with a black box) is very tolerable.

    GPSMAP 942XS, PS22, cover, cords and Amped Outdoors 12AH battery come in at 11 pounds 14 ounces (realistically a few ounces lighter, there’s a couple depth bombs and some spare hardware in the bag too)

    A Vexilar with a standard lead battery and case is just shy of 9 pounds for reference.

    I ended up switching back to using a 93sv UHD for ice fishing, the Ultra106sv setup was just too bulky/heavy/battery hog for my liking…

    My Garmin XL Bag/Shuttle/93UHD/18ah Amped setup weighs 20 lbs on the nose…

    22.8 LBS 106, Garmin XL bag and base Amped 30 battery

    You should check your scale…

    The Amped 30ah battery itself is 3 lbs heavier than a 18ah…The 106 screen and cradle mount are alot heavier than a 93uhd. I weighed my Ultra106 Garmin bag & Shuttle with an 18ah battery and it was 23.6 lbs, then you add the extra 3 lbs of the 30ah battery weight difference and that puts the Ultra 106 & 30ah shuttle weight at 26.6 lbs

    So when switching back to the 93sv did you notice the huge resolution difference? As I read in your earlier research someone stated if you had them side by side you would look at the 106 all day.

    I wont know any difference and this set up is for ice only. Stick with the 93 or upgrade to the 106 for an additional 400$?

    The Ultra screen is ALOT crisper and sharper in the menu’s and 2D/DI/SI but is it better in Livescope? I don’t know yet…. There’s lots of personal accounts that it is/it isn’t and unverified info that the GLS10 only exports a preset low resolution anyways so screen resolution doesnt really matter. I’ve asked several youtube livescope experts to make a video comparing Livescope only across the different levels of screens, we’ll see. I’ll get alot of LVS34 & Ultra106 seat time this spring and will provide my opinion…

    Just got my Ultra106 + LVS34 bundle put together, here are the stats:

    Ultra 106sv & cradle
    GLS10 + LVS34 transducer
    Garmin XL bag & base (newer bag)
    Amped Outdoors 32ah NMC battery
    All-in-one power cable
    Short Network Cable
    Summit LVS34 Perspective pole mount
    * Still waiting on a transducer cover *

    Total weight = 24.8 lbs

    I don’t see how you can get this Screen + Livescope LVS34 combo any lighter without making big tradeoffs in runtime or protection of the parts (battery/case)

    Does the bag close with the head unit OEM cover? I saw that you have a soft cover.

    it does, I purchased a new Garmin XL bag a month ago and it appears the rumors of the newer bags being made a tiny bit larger now are true! I can zip it shut with the plastic cover on.

    Joe – which holes did you use to mount the 106sv cradle? Front 4 or back 4? My xl bag from garmin showed up today and it’s pretty tight with it mounted all the way forwards. Not sure if I got an older bag or if I have my screen mounted too far forwards.

    Thanks in advance!

    I use the front 4 holes, you cant tilt the screen if you use the back 4…keep the screws loose and push the cradle back a tiny bit and then tighten them down, the little bit helps. You also need to keep the screen angled the same as the case when zipping it up. I’ll try and upload a short video of me zipping my case shut. My old case was very tight to zip shut, you can see this new one isn’t…
    I do have the LVS34 stored in the outside pocket as I dont want to scratch the elements cramming it inside the case until I get a cover for it, not sure if that effects the closing or not? I’ll test that when my cover arrives

    Thanks, that video helps a ton! I moved mine to the front holes, and made sure to slide it back a tiny bit before tightening. I also turned my cradle 180degrees (not sure if this was necessary) and also slid the shuttle as far back as it would go inside the bag (there was some slop inside)…now it closes just like yours. Perfect! Fired it up in simulator mode too…man this thing is nice!!! Can’t wait to get it on the water. Thanks for all of your help Joe!!

    Screen = 10″ Ultra 106sv

    Cables = Garmin ice bundle cable harness (010-12676-40) and short female network cable (010-12531-10)
    Covers = Basstank LVS32 cover, Custom foam macbook cover for screen

    TOTAL BUNDLE WEIGHT = 23.6 lbs

    ** This same exact setup (but with an Echomap 93UHD) weighs = 20.2 lbs **

    Bumping this back up….As I am just piecing my livescope together with a 106sv. Joe, was the 18 AH battery enough to run the 106 for a full day? If not and I buy a 30, did you go with the slim battery or wide? Also, do you have the part number for the new XL bag? I don’t want to get stuck with the old stock XL bag.

    Thanks

    The 18AH LifePO4 battery is no longer made, they replaced it with a 20AH, but it’s still not enough for all day 106sv + Livescope (probably 5-6 hours) unless you jack the backlight down to the point of it not being usable…I personally went with the 32AH NMC Amped battery, it’s about 40% less weight vs the 30AH LifePO4 battery…I would get the wide version so it sits perfectly in the Garman bag shuttle battery slot.

    The newer Garmin bags have the same part #, you just need to hope the store you buy from has newer stock vs an older bag that was sitting on their shelf for years…
