Garmin kraken shaft length

I’m debating upgrading to a garmin kraken from a 60″ 2020 terrova. On my 1775 impact the terrova shaft is definitely short at times. I’m thinking I need the 75″ kraken but at the same time that seems excessive for that size boat. Not to mention my cover won’t fit anymore. I know shaft measurements very between brands but would the 63″ kraken be equivalent to the terrova? I’m unable to get measure the current motor til I can get the boat off the trailer after ice out.

I have a 75 Kraken on my Ranger 621 and I have the head up 1′-1.5′ from it’s lowest and only in big waves 4′ or bigger I need to lower it. I know the lunds bob up and down more than my boat but I think you would be fine with a 63″ Kraken.

Garmin measures the Kraken from the bottom of the base to the bottom of the skeg. What they call a 63″ model comes out to 57 1/4″. What they call a 75″ comes out to 69 1/8″.

Minn kota measures the Terrova from the bottom of the base to the center of the drive gear/prop. What they call a 60″ comes out to 54 1/8″. What they call a 72″ comes out to 63 1/8″.

The difference in measuring is half of the diameter of the motor and the height of the skeg of the Kraken. With out measuring this I estimate that this measurement exceeds 3 1/8″ making the Kraken slightly shorter.

Based on this if you want better performance due to shaft length then you will not find it going with the 63″ Kraken.
