Do any of you guys run a garmin echomap on the ice? Looking at possibly selling one of my marcums to get the ice kit for my 93. I would just use that transducer that comes with it not the panoptix. Would it be worth the switch or just hang on to the marcum?

I lied. I might consider the panoptix as well.

Worth googling old threads here. I believe bman had some excellent posts last season on his Garmin setups. Overall, yes, get it setup bc they are a winner winner chicken dinner.

I have both a 93uhd and a 73cv. I use both at different times. They are very versatile. But I still prefer jigging under a traditional flasher

Works great with the standard transducer.

I got rid of my marcum and now run my 73 for ice. The flasher mode is as good as the marcum and you have the mapping right at your fingertips. I’d recommend it.

    U have the 8 or 10 transducer?

I’m interested if you have the 10. Will be making my way out there at some point this fall.

Theres no lag on the flasher mode is there?? I guess thats my biggest worry. Is battery life good?

None with the 10 transducer at all. I run a marcum Brute battery and it will go all day. Never had a battery issue. Longest single run time probably 12 hours or so.

I’ve used both 73sv and 93sv uhd, both worked great with the GT8 and GT10 ducer

Do you feel the 10 is worth the extra dough?

I have a 73sv and 73dv. Got the 73dv on eBay for $228. First season I just used the GT-54 mounted to the end of a PVC pipe. Worked really well. But then I bought a GT-8 the following year and that worked great, too. Then last year I got a gently used Panoptix PS-22 TR transducer for $450. Very happy with it.
