Does anyone who fishes the upper Mississippi River Ia. thru Wis. use Lake Vu HD or Lake Vu HD Ultra. If so could you post images. I am thinking about up grading my 11 year old unit.

I can take some pictures of the charts from my 73SV tonight that has the default LakeVu HD. Let me know the nearest city or someway to identify the areas you are interested in.

I would like to see too. I’m looking at the 93SV for my next graph.

Only thing I hear bad is that the sidevu is not as good at spotting fish as the Humminbird or Lowrance? But can not find much about it online.

    Thanks

Going to have to do a couple posts but here’s some randomly selected areas. I can’t get rid of the cursor in the middle or it will bring me back to my actual location.

First up is near Lansing at three different zoom levels.

There are no contours between Guttenberg and Bellevue! Also two pictures of an area without contours, it just has some navigational info.

Two zoom levels of another location and a bonus shot of Big Point on Mille Lacs for anyone in MN.

Remember you can make your own maps with a lot of the garmin units. So if it’s not on the chart and you want it just make it while you are checking the area out.

I’ve read where you cannot put a Garmin sv transducer on a Power Drive MinnKota. It’s too long, it won’t go between the skeg and prop. Any comments? I know this is true with Side image Lowrance transducer. So far Humminbird looks like the only option if you want Side image on the front.

I don’t think you really want side imaging on your trolling motor. If you turn that will stretch the view on one side and compact the view other side, and you won’t be able to tell what you are looking at. It is meant to be mounted in the rear on the transom or on a talon that doesn’t twist unless they changed the system since the last time I bought one. Garmin has the front looking panoptix transducer that can be mounted on the trolling motor, but the transducer alone is more than many locators.
