What are the blue and brown wires for? I assume the red and black are power and ground. Thanks.

Data sharing if you have another garmin installed. It will share waypoints.

Lol. I just went through this. Garmin support tech was great. If you do run 2 units make sure to connect blue to brown and vice versa. Transmit to receive and vice versa.

Well since I don’t have 2 units no need to worry about those 2 wires. I see there is an inline fuse on the unit. Any reason I cannot run direct to the starting battery or do I need to go through my fuse block? Thanks.

If you like inline fuses, you can go direct to the battery. If you are like me and don’t like hidden fuses all over the boat, remove the inline and go to a fuse block.

Thanks SD1959. So my previous transducer was mounted on the left hand side, looking at back of boat. I wanted to go into old mounting holes but that won’t work. My old unit worked on the left hand side but doing some reading about this some suggest mounting on right hand side. Does it really make a difference? Thanks.

Transducers like clean water. Rotation of the prop tends to make the starboard side of the boat the better choice.

Here is where I mounted it. Left side and directly above where the old transducer was. The old speed wheel was mounted to the left of it. We’ll see what this does. Thanks.
