    Hey Everyone……..
I’ve got the $10 Navionics iPhone app, but I’m trying to sort out different Garmin handheld options. I thought a person could look for an older Lakemaster WI chip, but they would become hard to find. I’m looking at Ebay and there appears to be quite a few of them called that, and pretty affordable. What am I missing? Are they much older versions that don’t have the desirable mapping, and I really wouldn’t want to have that item? Also I remember hearing that Garmin had essentially replaced that prior Lakemaster chip with their own mapping called Upper Midwest, but I don’t even see that on the Garmin site anymore? Who can catch me up so I don’t pick up the wrong item.

I’m running Minnesota lakemaster 2010 version for my 76 garmin and my garmin gps sonar and it suits me well. I see no reason Wisconson would be different. Earlier versions, say before 2005, may not have 1ft contours. I’m not sure if the 0ld lakemater for garmin is compatable with the new tech or not. Something to check into.

As for garmin maps it looks like Garmin now calls their maps U.S. LakeVu. Not familiar with these maps but with garmins push to capture part of the upper midwest market I would be confident these maps be comparable or if not better than the competators. Give garmin a call their costumer service is the best out there by far.
