Garmin 2016 line has been released

if your considering GARMIN check out the new value line and the addition of full chirp to more units including echomaps and the new value orientated line. Also a smaller version of panoptix.
Also, Quickdraw Contour sonar charting to many units.

Who’s a good dealer to talk to about these units. I’d like to put hands on the garmins and figure out what to buy.

My strategy for product evaluation is company instructional videos and you tube. Then its off to either Cabelas or Bass Pro. Those guys know quite a bit, you just have to find the right one. Also, if nessasary, they both take returns if not satisfied.

I believe Skeeter boat center was mentioned as carrying a line of Garmin.

Last time I was in SBC had a full Garmin display.

WE have a full display here in Ramsey of Garmin, Echo maps as well as 7610 GPSMap models!

I learned a tremendous amount from a sales associate at Cabela’s in Woodbury. this was before the 2016 line was in the store. there will be one on my console come opening day.

I’m super interested in the garmin units as well. I understand that they had to redesign the DownVu transducer (I think … something like that) as a result of a lawsuit. Does anyone know if that impacted the features or performance of the new units in any way vs. what I was seeing on the pre-lawsuit units?

I would not think performance would be an issue. As with the cutthroat world of marine electronics with all the maufactures suing each other putting an inferior product would not be in their best interest for sales.

Huge discounts are to be had for pre 2016 models if you can find them. On Cabelas website they have 73sv combo with lakevu hd mapping for $549.99 marked down from $999. Cant beat that price for a 7inch screen with downvu and sideview
