Garage door keypads

I have a wireless universal keypad on my overhead garage door. There are times when it works after putting in the code once but more times than not I have to put the code in numerous times to get the door to open. I’ve had to enter it up to 15 times before. Not sure if I’m getting an interference or what. Do they make a wired keypad? I see they make one where you use your phone for like $50. Thoughts or opinions? I don’t want to spend to much because it’s on an apartment garage.

Maybe buy the GDO manufacturer’s version, instead of a universal?

I had the same problem with my 10 year old unit, I just replaced the key pad and fixed it. I got the new style with big buttons.

I should have added that this is less than a year old.

I’d try a battery first. Mine tends to act weird when the battery is failing.

Yeah, that’s an easy attempt at a fix.

Maybe the contacts in the keypad are corroded. I know my old keypad was a nightmare to use.

I almost wish my new one didn’t have a keypad because I can use my phone to open it.

I used to have to put mine in at least twice before I figured out…. wake it up by hitting ENTER first… then put the code in, ENTER and walla !

I’ve done it both ways, enter first and code first.

I have an extra key pad you are welcome to have of you want it.

Change your code numbers, repeated numbers somehow get to worn to work well.
