The Green Bay store is closing per a store clerk discussion while shopping there today. Not sure if other stores are also closing although I wouldn’t be surprised. A few weeks ago about 50 new campers showed up and today I was told most were picked up by the manufacture with the rest going soon. Rumor’s of their financial failure may be true. Buyer beware.

Bemidji is shutting down. Seems to me someone mentioned here on IDO that if they did not have room for campers inside they were going to be closing.
November 5, 2019 at 2:51 pm #1889155Last story I heard was they are closing all stores that don’t sell RV’s (but that may have changed). I did get a steal on a brand new 4 blade prop to be my back up for 30 bucks two weeks ago in Onalaska.
Brad DimondPosts: 1440November 5, 2019 at 3:00 pm #1889159Gander in E.P. and Bemidji are the Minnesota closings. More closures in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Sheboygan, Grand Chute and Onalaska, Wis.; Chesterfield, Mo.; Paducah, Ky.; Florence, Ala.; Rockford and Janesville, Ill.; and Buffalo, N.Y.

Regardless of how anyone’s political views are. Why tick off potentially 1/2 your customer base ?
Our local Gander’s is closing also. Same weak excuse ” we can’t get campers in here “. How about extremely high prices and stocking your fishing department with crap that doesn’t sell locally.
This local closed once before . Didn’t even make 2 years this time. The old store was better stocked than the new version. I look for the owner to author a book.” How to make sure you fail in business ”

Shop where you want, but this has been thoroughly debunked. The comment he made was not a blanket statement about trump supporters, but specific to people who supported Trump’s reaction and comments about the white supremacist incident in Charlottesville, VA.
November 6, 2019 at 7:35 pm #1889528I bought a Framed bike for my wife and a competitor said that they were going under. Would love to know what is going on because the bike is great so far.
November 6, 2019 at 8:14 pm #1889532Forest Lake store seems to be going pretty strong. As much as I didn’t want to like the store when it first came back, I find myself there at least once a week as of late as their hunting and fishing selection (even though half the store is dedicated to RVs and related items) is pretty darn good.

Framed is a Minnesota company and I’d be willing to bet they will continue to stand by the product with service & warranty, even if GO shuts down (which I don’t think is happening.)
November 6, 2019 at 9:41 pm #1889554The Baxter store is pretty nice. The fishing dept is well-stocked. The prices on lures are competitive with FleetFarm. It also has a ton of RV,s and campers. I hope it makes it. It’s nice to have a choice. I still hold out hope that Reed’s opens another store in Baxter. Not likely.

Rumor has it that this store will stay open until around Black Friday? Some of their ice fishing stuff was cheaper than many areas.I dropped a hundo on Tungsten tubby jigs last year, they were 4.29 a pack.
Now this area won’t have much, maybe Farm and Fleet can expand on this area?November 7, 2019 at 12:59 am #1889563I miss the St Cloud Gander Mountain store. I always found what I needed there. The local Mills and Scheels are out of stock on all the good stuff usually. No wonder people shop online.
November 7, 2019 at 9:23 am #1889596Onalaska, WI store is closing but they continue to bring in product. It may never go out of business. They have been all over the map on their discounts also. Started at 40%, went to 25% then they dragged out a bunch of ice fishing stuff only to discount that at 10% off. Meanwhile, they are running an online(Facebook) ad telling us everything is 70% off but this was only for marine products which the ad never specified. Lots of pi$$ed of customers in store when they thought they were getting 70% off. Kind of a love/hate with Gander here in the La Crosse. They had a pretty solid selection on ice fishing products last season with competitive prices but they are all over the map with their business model.
November 7, 2019 at 11:32 am #1889622I hate to say it but Fleet farm is nothing but a shell of what it use to be – As far as the sporting goods dept. goes. The one here in Waite park did a huge remodel – I thought their lack of product was just due to the remodel. The remodel has been complete for some time now and still a lack of product. They seem to want to model themselves after other companies who have or are going out of business – Good Business model !!! Lots of Cloths and now firearms – Fishing tackle is about 1/4 of what they use to have. Was in there last night and didn’t even see any icefishing gear at all yet. Went in to buy a pair of ice armor gloves they were supposed to carry – Not 1 pair. Hoped they had a clam combo for ice fishing – Once again NADA. I fear that retail stores are going to slowly die off. Some of it is due to online sales – but some is also due to management not understanding the needs of their customers.

November 7, 2019 at 12:19 pm #1889631I was there a couple weeks ago. Advertised “up to” 70% off on the doors and in emails. Found 70% off marine, good deals for things here if you needed them. Guns, ammo, optics were 15% off, everything else was 40% off with the exception of clearance and a pile of last year’s ice fishing gear @ 10% off?
Overall, the original sticker prices on everything seemed elevated.
Looked like they were restocking with more inventory too, I suspect the fire sale will be going on for a bit.November 7, 2019 at 2:54 pm #1889672Any update when the bigger eden prairie scheels will open?
I had heard it was this November, and I am seeing ads for them online but haven’t gone over that way lately to check.

Need someone to make a Tommy Boy meme, you can get 70% off of something we increased the price 80%, like getting a good look at a TBone. But I’m going to the butcher/Fleet Farm.
