Looking to maybe get a couple sales here at the end of the season.

Looking for a couple options. Would like a camera where i can get pictures on my phone. Only really need it for 3 months of the year. Read some things where it is a subscription based which is a money suck.

Other options that i dont realky know about is night distance some are 60 and others are 100.

Not sure what is really out there. Any tips and pointers would be nice.

    Thx

Where is your hunting property and how good is your cell phone reception there? It seems that is one of the deciding factors for those getting into cell cams, if you don’t have good cell signal, you’ll be unhappy.

I would love to get a cell cam, but I can’t justify the expense and I make frequent trips to my property anyway, where I run 6 cams and counting. For the price of 1 cell cam, I can buy 2-3 really good chip cams.

For non-cell cams bought in the last year:

    – Browning has been awesome and I’ve heard nothing but good reviews across multiple models in the Browning lineup. I have a Command Ops and it’s been really great from day 1.

    – Moltrie had the Gen 2 cams out for the A5 and 880 series, and both these cams get great revies. I bought the low end A5 Gen 2 and for a $59 cam, it’s terrific. No frills and not the best night resolution, but it goes click and takes pics 12 months a year at my property. Battery life is excellent.

I have 4 Bushnells as well, but these are all older cams. Since they aren’t current production cams, I won’t give a rundown. They have been very reliable cams and battery life is excellent. I’ll leave it to others for reviews of new generation Bushnell cams as my newest cam is now 3 years old.

I have now switched over to Browning. I don’t have any on cell service and just go pull SD cards as i need to. But i will say they have out lasted/performed against all the other brands that I have tried.

Just to add, I absolutely LOVE the time lapse function of the Browning cams. Unlike other cams where you have to adjust the start/end times for the time lapse (aka field scan or plot watcher mode) to compensate for changes in daylight, the Browing cams do this automatically. You just select how many hours you want to capture on time lapse in the morning and evening and the cam’s light sensor determines when to start and stop every day.

I’ve had nothing but good service out of the Browning cam that I have. I had a bear tear up one of my cams and so I decided to try a Browning replacement and I’m glad I did. it’s hard to see me buying anything else anytime soon.
