Fusing a helix five ?

I purchased two of the marcum lithium batteries for my two ice fishing helix fives. They came with a fuse inline. I did round up a old connector but is it really necessary? It would be a lot easier to just plug it in instead of doing a bunch of spices.

I did replace the five amp fuse with a three because that’s what hummingbird recommends. Now I’m wondering if this cord is just for the charger and not meant for the graph. I’ve never had a marcum so I assumed this was their way of connection.

That connection is primarily for the charger that came with that lithium battery, however you could also use it to connect to power cable to the Helix like it appears you’re attempting to do. Often times the power cables for electronics have the small spade connectors (female) and connect to the battery, which is why the cable has the piggyback connections.

Thanks, I’ll put the five amp back on and just use it for the charger, I didn’t think this was needed.
