Took the Boys back to the Apostles for the first time in years.
The campground was packed at Sand Bay and the island sites were booked, so we just crashed in the boat at the dock both nights.
Saturday morning we caught a few lakers right away, but wanted to find some salmon for dinner and they wanted a boat ride. The lake was glass so we made the 31 mile crossing to the north shore. They took turns and drove the whole way there.
The fishing was crazy, they caught 15 pink salmon and a dozen lakers in just 5 hours! Hank broke his personal best laker with a slob of a 37″.
Our crossing back greeted us with 25 miles of 50-100 yard fog. I knew we were going to run into some for sure, but never been happier to have radar on the boat
Yesterday afternoon the Boys drove us to Devil’s Island and back (26 miles) to check out the sea caves, super cool experience and a good time to get the kids some more experience behind the wheel. They had to dodge nets, kayakers, debris and reefs to get us there and back safe.
Other than the packed campground and fog it was a trip to remember!
