Sharon the words “fun” and “math” are never in the same sentence for me.
That’s okay Dutchy. I know a lot of people who’d agree with you. I liked math in school, but definitely not geography!
Wouldn’t necessarily call it a math problem. More of a logical deduction.
Is it 062?
Since this distance learning has started I’ve been helping my daughter that has a hard time with math. I’m currently getting an A in six grade math 😂. We haven’t got to the lock cracking section yet.

You guys might be math whiz but your reading comprehension lacks.

Sorry Sharon.
I tend to skip over the fine print.
It is 042. If you go back and look at the first and second lines, 6 is the first number eliminated.

602X2
Or 042
Thanks for all the messages, guys! This was fun! Some got it right and some were just a titch off. The answer is… (drumroll please!)…
…
042!
Detailed explanation, partly because I’m a nerd and partly, bored:
A) I started with clue #4 which tell us that we can eliminate all occurrences of the 7, 3, and 8 digits.
B) This means we can eliminate the digit 8 in clue #1. This also means according to clue #5 that one of the correct digits is a 0 but it will not be in the third spot.
C) Which means that in clue #3 one of the two correct digits is the 0 but it’s in the wrong spot again. This lets us conclude that the first digit of the correct code is 0. And that one of the other two digits is either a 2 or a 6.
D) We can eliminate the 1 as a potential digit because nowhere else do the clues tell us what we would do with the 1.
E) Reading clue #1 and then #2 one after another lets us eliminate the 6 as being the first potential digit, leaving the only digit in clue #1 as the 2 (since we eliminated the 8 earlier) so we know that the last digit of the correct code is 2. (So we’ve got: 0 blank 2)
F) Since we now know that 2 is part of the correct code, we can eliminate the 6 as a possibility (see step C) above). Since we’ve eliminated the 1 and the 6, we can conclude that as we read clue #2 again the remaining digit in the correct code is 4.
G) Thus, the correct code is 042!
I just figured that in the movie Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy, the #42 was the answer to every problem in the universe. So clearly 042.
Further solidifying my nerd status, I like English, in addition to math! Remember when the teacher would write a poorly constructed sentence on the blackboard and you had to go up and correct it? I LOVED doing that! Eventually my teachers quit letting me go first, because I would just fix the whole sentence and not leave any mistakes for other kids. I didn’t mind. I knew what I was doing.
I used to tutor in college, and if I was out of work right now I’d love to help tutor kids. That is of course if they still teach things the same way as when I learned it. 😅 👩🏫

I wasn’t a fan of geography…how hard is it to find a lake>>>>>>> I am kinda a history buff. my wife rolls her eyes every time I pull over in one of the historical markers spots on a highway!!!!!!

And here I always thought I was the resident nerd on IDO.
