Full nema2k display on Helix 10 G2N.. A Pipe Dream?

I have a fully functioning LMF-400, Navico Fuel Data Manager and my 2019 Yamaha VMAX 115hp connected to a nema2k .
I can see all the values in my LMF-400 even the trim percentage!

So I thought this winter I would try the humminbird nema black box over the network. I have read many threads stating either it works or it doesn’t.
I seem to one of the ones that it partially works.

Here is a screen shot of what I can see. Tach,Engine Temp, Oil Pressure, Trim. I was really hoping to see fuel, tack and engine hours.

Here I can see the fuel option and it’s selected but doesn’t register on the screen. Also I can not select the Tank 1 Option in the Nema Source Set Up Menu.

I see no options to select engine hours. I like the LMF-400 gauge but it would be much more convenient in a tiller to see all the values on one screen

I am thinking maybe because the engine is displaying as instance 0 and my fuel data manager is also instance 0 on the Nema2k network. Could that be causing confusion for the helix as to where to get the values?

So if everybody says this won’t work with the n2k network and lowrance yamaha n2k cable. Would the yamaha command link module over nema 2k allow me to see the values on my Helix 10 g2n?

I went through this with my Etec. Got the same exact results. The limitation as I understood it was on Humminbird’s end. I sold the hummingbird NMEA adapter and connected the motor to a Lowrance NMEA gauge. I don’t understand why HB won’t fix their NMEA comparability issue but my Lowrance gauge solved the problem for me.

Thanks John! Atleast I know it’s not me just missing some setting! I called HB customer service and she pretty much just read me the manual HAHA!

I had the same problem when I first hooked mine up to my 250SHO last year. I was very frustrated because there are no instructions out there. I can’t remember exactly, but when you are in one of the sub menus selecting what to put in the gauge cluster you have to hit the check mark button and it brings you to a hidden menu. I went from only being able to see RPM and temp to seeing hours, rpm, temp, oil pressure, fuel consumption and maybe something else I’m forgetting.

I definitely got into that menu when I was setting mine up. But it was limited. The thing I remember very specifically is that I could get fuel consumption but not in any useful format like MPG. I had to buy a lowrance dash display and a separate GPS puck to get that. Maybe they’ve updated it since I gave up three years ago.

    Hi Hawk,

Thanks I hit all those sub menus and there was no option to pick hours. Also, I picked fuel but it did not read from the Fuel Data Manager. My LMF-400 was reporting 10gals left and 40 used.. but nothing on the helix g2n. I have since returned the Nema Gateway.

I’m thinking of getting a Simrad gauge or another LMF-400.. they are little slow to switch between pages, but I really only want to see Engine Temp,RPM and fuel at 1 time.

If memory serves it’s from this menu you press the check mark to see the sub menu.
