Hey all,
Looks like it could be a May ice out this year on Vermilion. Temps are in an upward turn however we still have lots of ice to melt. It could mean a few restrictions for opening day in this part of the state. There is a very good chance that Pike bay will be closed to anglers the first week of the season. The DNR hatchery on the Pike river is just coming out of the ice and if they don’t get their egg quota before early May, you can bet Pike bay will be closed.
