I spent a day on Jeanette the other summer and would like to get back up that way this summer. I saw there was two campsites that weren’t part of the NPS campground which would be my preference. My question is what other smaller lakes are in the area and or rivers that are worth checking out? I will be using my canoe or 16′ Jon with jet drive so big lakes are out of the question. The vermilion river has been on my bucket list but I don’t care to stay at the one reasort on the river to use their boat ramp. The DNR site shows only canoe accesses but have found more that one on other rivers that were boat ramps and not carry in access. Anyone know if it’s possible toget a small boat in at any of them?

You can put a boat in at twomile creek on county road 422 and boat to the Virmilion river. I put a proV with a 60 hph in there several times while staying at vermilion dam lodge.
