Considering a trip up to Lake Vermilion this year for my Dad’s and my annual smallmouth outing. Where’d be a good place to stay? Just need a cheap motel or something… Primary concern is being near good smallmouth areas. And, is the Smallmouth fishing as good as what I have read?

The Smallies are everywhere on Vermilion, however I like the east side best for bigger fish. You can get information on lodging at http://www.lakevermilion.com
I’m sure you’ll find a resort in your price range as we have 37 resorts in all price ranges. There are a
good number of decent basic fishing resorts, to fill your needs.
Some good ones that I recommend are;
Glenmore resort.
Daisy Bay resort.
Glenwood Lodge.
Retreat Lodge. Motel units are available also.
Timbuktu resort.
Marjo Motel.
