Has anyone ever stayed at the resort. Planning on a family trip in late July. Have never fished Rainy lake. Any pointers?

Yes, stayed with them last Oct, 2010. Nice resort. I do not recall but I do not think they had a beach. Nice lodge/restauarnat/bar & clean cabin. Not the fanciest cabin but it was adequate. Very nice people.

I have not stayed there but many times I have refueled the boat and enjoyed a cool one.

Seems to be a nice place and the service has been good the 3-4 times we have stopped.

That place has a decent reputation. Their neighbors, island view, do not.

I have stayed there the last couple of years, and I have been very happy with them. The cabins I have been in were nice.

You will not believe the shade of blue of the water when sitting in the restaurant or on the deck.

Nice location for getting around the lake should the weather rear it’s ugly head, which can happen on Rainy!

You will have a wonderful time.

Sha-Sha resort has a simply breathtaking view of Rainy Lake resting on the edge of Voyageurs National Park. The cabins are nice and the bar/restaurant is a must see attraction with the multitudes of decks. Truly a summer “Hot Spot” over looking the cool blue waters of Rainy lake!! Both my daughter and wife will be working out there part-time this summer. My 15 year old girl will be the “Nacho Girl” LOL!! The “Fishing Queen” does some waitress work there a few nights a week!! I suggest you book early………Or for that matter book for next year as they book fast. I do a lot of guiding out of both Thunderbird Lodge and Sha-Sha resort. Both very nice locations with very nice people!! Between Rainy Lake Houseboats for those seeking the awesome Houseboat experience, or land based resorts such as Sha-Sha Resort and Thunderbird Lodge…….You can’t go wrong!! They are highly recommended!!

Might want to order one of the infamous Long Islands from Sha-Sha!!

July fishing can be the most consistent walleye fishing of the entire open water season. Walleyes are concentrated in the months of July and August and due to our cold/stained waters the normal “Dog Days” of summer are normally hot action on the big lake!! With that being said 220,000 acres can be a bit intimidating and there of course is a lot of dead water to eliminate. Get your cabin booked up!!!

Just returned from Sha Sha Resort last week. Bad experience with the cabin we rented. Electrical surges occurred our entire stay which left lights flickering on & off, appliances shutting off and bulbs burning out on different lamps. It was a hassel watching the direct tv in the evening because it would go out numerous times, and then there was the 5 minute process of waiting for it to reboot. Notified owners several times, but nothing was done. Very frustrating week, but the fishing was decent.
