Those big Crappies are just around the corner. We are hoping the latest warm weather will have dropped our heavy snow into the slush and then lock up. This will enable travel with much more confidence throughout borderland fisheries. I assure you anglers DO NOT want to pack away the ice gear with the some fantastic fishing on the horizon!!

You’re looking at 60 days of ice season yet, buddy! Hopefully the temps get right to solve the slushing issues so you can get back to movin’ and groovin’ in your search for the next hot bite.

We’re about ready to begin our second half of the season. I’m currently gathering our Crappie gear and pinpointing some new locations to begin our search. We Really can’t wait!! I for one would love to knock down that 17 inch “Donk” this season!!

Great pics Chris What depth are you finding them in? The slabs are already moving shallow in my area 6-8FOW. I assume yours will be doing the same if they aren’t doing so already?

You still have some of your best crappie fishing coming up, am I right? I can’t wait to see the pics you’re going to post over the next couple months. Keep after em

    Hi Joe

The Crappies we are focused on will be holding in mud basins. 22-50 f.o.w. typically suspended in the water column 5-15 feet off the bottom. These Crappies are focused in on freshwater shrimp often times. Your absolutley right our BEST Crappie fishing is mid to late February until the ice cracks in April sometime. Very excited.
