With our ridiculous snow amounts this season we’ve witnessed lethargic fish as of late. Triggering these big fish has been very challenging. I assure you the effort is worth it when your chasing fish of this caliber. This beast of a pike today was caught on my favorite jigging spoon; a 1/8 oz. Lightning spoon in the Orange/Chart color combination by Custom Jigs and Spins. http://www.customjigsandspins.com . 2ft of 6lb mono lead. Hooked the beast in the snoot!! She was probably the heaviest pike we’ve come across in quite awhile versus length and that is saying something considering this is #5 over 20LBS so far this winter!! She is obviously forming eggs already, and hooking this fish up this spring has me already losing sleep!! Of course Caught, Photo’d and effectively released.
Congrats to Mike, Randal and Barry for the great fish!!
Lake conditions are absolutely terrible right now. We are simply unable to access the waters we would like to. This being said I’d never turn a day away with the chance to ice fish like these!
Next season our team will be expanding to further mobilize our groups onto many different patterns. Bookings for the 2011/12 season are being filled right now. Rates as low as $150.00 a man!!
