When a guy keeps swinging for the fences he hits the sweetspot for that majestic shot every once in awhile!! Customer Ryan Kayle IMO tops yesterdays 27 inch walleye with this BEASTLY PIKE, and obviously has his swing GROOVED!! We set some homerun balls on he sheet today in the form of Tip-Ups despite the cold conditions not being very “Flag Friendly”. On our second spot we had a Sizzling Spinner with the the Red high in the sky. Stumbling across the slush and heavy snow I quickly broke the ice seal on the flag, and started ripping off large pulls of line. The Pike was taking line faster than I could rip it off. Ryan came barreling out of the Otter, and I said you are going to have to get on this fish Kayle…We’re almost out of line!! Risking being spooled Ryan Slammed the quick set rig into the corner of the mouth of this monster without hesitation. I always like to watch the look on a customers face at hooket as it is most always worth a thousand words. I knew by his expression this fish was a GIRTHY GAL!! As he sliced his finger pretty good on the first run there was blood flying and the “Manual Drag” of this simplistic tip up rig singing. 3 grown men were jockeying for position hovered over the hole just hoping to catch a glimpse of this fish. Fortunately the fish cooperated and though one of the quick set rigs was spit at the hole the other brought the BEAST on the ice!! Quick photo shoot for IDO and released unharmed.
