We ran into a tough bite yesterday for who knows what reason. High Pressure? Ciscoe relocation? The fish have read my fishing reports? Forgot my Lucky Rainydaze Shirt? They are full? The list goes on surely………Dealing with what I DO know…….We did not mark the MASS of big fish we’ve been fishing as of late. The few Rainy Lake Tankers we did encounter for the most part…..SNUBBED our lethal presentations. Truth of the matter is boys sometimes the fish WIN!! Oooh yes…… that honestly hurts to say I’m not gonna lie. Well the fish might have won this mini battle, but by the end of our day my customer Brad ultimately won the war extending our streak to 5 straight days icing a walleye over the 26 inch mark. Take a close look at the Shoulders on another walleye he caught later on that day. The Glowing eyes of Rainy are truly well fed fish ladies and gentleman. I’m hoping to sit down this winter with our local big lake specialist to see if he has some further insight on our current ciscoe populations as it seems these fish have a fresh stock of high protein from somewhere I didn’t notice this summer. The bulk of these big fish we’ve been chasing cleverly threw us the nasty Knuckle curve ball yesterday instead of those batting practice fast balls. We’re looking to make a pattern change to attempt to get back in touch with our “Girthy Gals” and once again knock it out of the park. Thus being up at 2:30 AM studying lake maps, and reviewing last years notes!! Who said a fishing guides job was easy Trust me…….We enjoy the chase, and strive to make the elusive…..Once again the captive species of Rainydaze Guide Service!!! I was told long ago to be GREAT at what you do you must operate a business within your passion of life. Well I don’t know about the Great part somedays………But I certainly understand the PASSION part. I believe the “Fishing Queen” is thinking I might need a Couch talk with the “Fishing Shrinks” All I can say is I hope he has some insight on the bite, because come Hardwater we have a one track mind.

Congrats also to Lindsey on tangling with the “Up North Ugly”. Who said “Poor Mans Lobster” is NOT for girls!! We removed the backstraps of this Pout, and I suspect those tender rolls of meat will soon be boiled in a little 7-up and dipped in drawn butter. Nice fish Lindsey!! Truly thought you had a 10lb Eye!!

Yeah we caught some bad weather Brad. Brutal conditions on the lake today hindered our lake travel. Ended up icing a 13lb pike though. (36 inches)

    Congrats on the big fish!!

Nice fish to end 2010 Brad and Lindsey. I might have caught a big fish if I weren’t so busy moving heaters, transducers, and taking pictures

Thanks Chris, we had a great time.

Here are a few more pictures from the trip and the ride home. I think mother nature was telling us to stay and fish another day or two. Anyway, a great trip and memories to last a lifetime. Thanks again, Chris!!

PS if you’re having any trouble getting the big ones to bite, try tipping your jig with a piece of bacon and a potato chip because those fish are fat swines!!!!
