Last year I distinctly remember falling behind Customer big fish pics so this year I vowed to stay on top of the game. BTW this means up at 4 AM before guide trips to allow more time to load tanks!! Do big fish take longer to load
I’ll try get another full up to date report on Friday or Saturday, and continue a weekly report on our fishing throughout the 2010/2011 Hardwater season.
Congratulations go out to John on his AGAIN……REALLY HEAVY 26 inch walleye. I can’t stress enough how stuffed full of SOMETHING these walleyes are. I believe these fish have been dieting on high protein ciscoes as they are in tremendous shape. Trust me ROBUST sized walleyes are good….and bad for anglers. These fish ARE NOT starving friends. Attention to detail is critical to any success. With this being said these fish are needing a lot of coaxing as I honestly think we are a Snack at the end of the Buffet line right now. Triggering bites has been vital. John crossed the eyes of this impressive walleye with a clown colored Lightning spoon in the 1/8 oz. tipped with a minnow head. http://www.customjigsandspins.com
Note of interest……When cutting minnow in half be sure to pop the air bladder in the minnow or the half head will want to float up instead of sink down on your jigging spoons. Might seem picky…..Might work!!
We’re also starting to see a lot of pike show up, and I’d expect to see some big gators come this weekend as the “Daze” search and destroy team looks to help uncover the big pike puzzle.
Take note of Johns Sweatshirt……Seems Rainydaze Gear might be THE “Secret Weapon” for landing big fish!! Just saying
