In Your Face Walleye Action!! - Rainy Lake - Rainy Lake

Ok…….Just sounded cool!! We pinned the “Tankers” on a Rock wall Face today in the midst of…….Lets say another slighly Breezy day on the Big “NOT SO” Easy!!! Spot on Spot has never been such an understatement as to the pinpoint boat control that was necessary to effectively hover on top of the tight pods of fish in todays action. A Special thanks to Lakemasters 1ft contours in their Rainy Lake chip that ONCE AGAIN help defined a finely detailed piece of structure that should, and did hold good fish with a SW driven wind today. http://www.lakemaps.com Ciscoes were found hovering in a nearby deep basin, and you could literally watch to intercept the tank walleyes as the worked together to drive the frantic baitfish against the rock face of death . We sat and stared down our 1197C from Humminbird while fish continued to race in, and then eagerly swim up the screen for a dandy Picture on IDO !! Seems every is looking for some facetime these DAZE!! In all honesty this was simply a severe BLUE COLLAR effort today in which the fish were playing dang “Pardon my French” tough and highly mobile. I believe these fish were actively feeding, which actually tends to make the fish more difficult to stand on then resting fish. Marking fish and dropping an Icon on them was done several times with minimal success. We finally pinned down the Pattern of the day around 1pm. I would rarely suggest this as a select fishing location, but on Rainy Lake……A guy just doesn’t know sometimes. When the window opens you best be ready to jump in………..or out?? For the serious love of the game it is a tough day like this that makes me thoroughly enjoy the ongoing challenge of attempting to keep your Skeeter down on top of these elite fish.
