Don’t be too hasty in trading in the open water “Whipping stick” for the heat seeking “SmokePole” just yet!! Those feathered friends will still be waiting for ya, and there are too many leaves on the trees still anyway!! In the midst of one of the single best times to stick a trophy walleye I am in the middle of a heartpounding 35 day stretch on the cold fall water on Rainy Lake. As I’ve mentioned a hundred times this is Man’s Weather in “Manland”………..Sometimes experienced by gals too!! Check out todays pics!! Put the Beatdown/Smackdown/Throwdown on some simply bruiser fish again today with 10 fall footballs slightly resembling walleyes measuring between 23-24 inches, 24.5, 25,26.5, and a HEAVY 29 inch trophy!! Another handful of 20-22.5’s along with smaller slots!!

A BIG shout out and congratulations to both Keith and Diane on PB’s today after 40 years of fishing!! Keith with this Rainy lake “MOOSE W/Fins” of a 29 incher, and Diane with a beautiful 26.5!! Great job team!! Keith will be getting a fiberglass replica of his awesome PB as the fish once again roams free in the vastness of Rainy Lake!! Girth measurement taped 17 inches!!

After a stubborn turnover period the Big fish have once again grouped up in very tight pods absolutely pulverizing ciscoes. The I-pilot was a critical piece in our modern day technology as our success could have easily been hindered as mother nature has a extremely bad case of “The Winds”. We followed a school of Tankers for an honest 2 hours today picking off one or two an then relocating them with our SI. Simply NOT POSSIBLE without the lethal combination of my 1197C from Humminbird and the Terrova 101 with I-Pilot!! BIG SHOUT OUT TO our team at the Skeeter Boat Center for their help with my guide service this year. What a huge HUGE HUGE value to IDO members that are serious about walleye fishing to have a team of experts like that serving us!! Every year I look to see how I can pick up our game to stay cutting edge, and each year I think I’ve got it dialed. THEN……….. Huge leaps into the future with technology make my headspin and walleye roll!!

SO…….You MIGHT HAVE missed this fall run!! GET THE TEAM TOGETHER FOR 2011!! Heck we Might have them all Caught and photographed by 2012!! NEVER to early to book your trips but when it comes to PRIME TIME…..Often a bit too late!!

Hey Ryan How goes it Pal!!

We got 3 Crappies that went about 13 inches today mixed in with the walleyes in wierd locations I must admit. Areas I’ve NEVER caught a crappie before.

We’re going to have to get you and your dad up here next fall pal!! Maybe a march Crappie Madness outing?? That really books up fast as I ended up turning down 14 parties last March guiding all 31….DAZE Then………the JULY in April!! Ended the beatdown TOO EARLY!! or Just in time

Jakob and I fished Rainy just before ice out last season and ran into one of your clients who had been out fishing crappies with you. I saw what was in his bucket so there’s a good chance you’ll be hearing from me in the near future.

Keep the pics comin’ – those are some nice fish!

Look forward to fishing with you boys again soon!!
