More Love shown to Rainy Lake Lunkers this week!! Great work Team!! Such an enjoyable time as always with simply wonderful people!! I love my job!! We simply put………… BATTLED high winds this week blowing many of my “GO TO” fishing destinations off my radar over the past days . With that being said a HUGE shout out to James and Dean for leading me to those No Name anchors!! Simply priceless for holding the big 2100 “Skeet Retreat” in position scoffing in the face of the recently grumpy “Ma Nature”. Maybe Dean or even the Great Oz himself will chime in with the info on this anchor, but IMO simply a MUST HAVE system on big water. Anyone coming to Rainy Lakes Houseboat Excursion would be served well by owning this piece of Stainless steel!! Remember POW (Price on Water is hefty!! In fact………Buy 2 you can probaly set up an Anchor Stand at the mouth of the Brule!!

I had the extreme pleasure of fishing with “Doc Norb”, and Karen from Missouri, Phil and family from Illinois and the 5 man “Team Desert Storm” staying at Sha-Sha resort. I regret to say was unable to hook up with previously scheduled happy campers that were forced to camp down by Kettle falls due to limited campsite availability, and ugly 5 footers making the nearly 60 mile round trip a bit too treacherous on a 1/2 day service. Heres to hoping those boys got it done once they go tied up!!

We found our walleyes this week on deep access breakpoints and some spot on spot reefs. I can say that when Norb and I fished we were the ONLY boat within 2-3 miles fishing, and that was simply because the conditions were too ugly for many to venture out. That is where the Anchor mentioned above was worth its weight in GOLD!! We locked in tight, and stood on the fish despite the weather. Good anchors and 150-200 feet of rope is a staple in my boat.

A big Thank You for all of our customers who continue to make Rainydaze Guide Service Your Large fish Specialists!! WE WANT YOU!! Some select September and October Dates still available as I henpeck this, and I doubt I need to hype September and October Tank Time anymore!!

We’ll see you on the water team!! We’ll be the “Skeet Retreat” with the Frabill net out!!

Good to hear the Waterspike is getting the job done for ya! Nothing more frustrating than catching really good fish and losing your anchor spot, seems like you can never re-anchor with the same results.

Looks like you have a fishtastic late summer bite going!

how do i always know it’s your post when i read the heading? always some kind of storybook titles? haha i guess u did pretty much write the book of deadliest catches this year already. nice post. ps those water spikes rock! just don’t put it on a clasp on the rope or u might lose it as i did!
