I’ve decided to Bring back the “Kids Corner” on the Rainy Lake forum to try help promote taking our kids fishing. Each week will either feature kids fishing with Daze or something that pertains to your kids…..AND FISHING!! Please feel free to participate in this forum as getting our children involved in fishing truly needs to be a movement by all. I am going to attempt to involve sponsors with this in the future by helping to hold some events here on Rainy Lake. It is highly likely that there was an adult figure that introduced you to our great sport whether that was parent, grandparent, uncle, or just a family friend. To those people that have provided us with a lifetime of enjoyment we owe a big thanks. If we all make a point in being that person to a few kids AT LEAST our own, we will accomplish great things. For one thing experts will tell you kids that are passionate in a hobby like fishing tend to stay clear of some of the temptations in todays society. I for one can say that fishing consumed me as a youngster….And still does today. Lets help provide a “IN DEPTH” movement bringing the passion to kids fishing!!

As a kick off to the Weekly Kids Corner thread on the Rainy Lake forum I’m offering a Kids fish for FREE with Daze offer for all trips booked within the next 2 weeks. These trips can be Open water or Hard Water. Here is how it will work. My guide rates are based on 2 people, and there is a additional charge for 3,4,or 5 fisherman. With my normal guide rates in tact you can add a couple kids for free with no additional charge. If it is simply yourself and 1 child I will give a 10% discount on the pre-booked trip. I am in the process of working with a few select sponsors that may provide small “Kids Packages” for our customers as well. All kids will be featured on the Kids Corner thread of the Rainy Lake Forum. I always try my best to provide the right mixture of knowledge, and passion for the sport that hopefully will HOOK your children on FISHING!! Have you ever noticed kids like things there GOOD AT?? Don’t we all?? I believe it is Crucial that kids see some success early in life when on the water. When our kids become good at fishing this paves the road to excel at our sport. As a youngster I vividly remember watching the Lindner boys instructional videos on Jig fishing on Saturday mornings prior to anyone being awake. I remember casting sinkers into a 5 gallon pail in the backyard. I remember painting my own lucky jigs…..I do my very best to bring the “COOL” back to fishing while at the same time passing on the “Passion” we all have for our Drag Screaming sport!! Take a close look at some of the recent pictures I’ve included. Nope not just Ho-Hum….Big fish by Daze, but the Kids are proud of those fish!! They will talk to their friends about that big fish, or their personal accomplishments!! THAT my friends is what this is about!!

So team!! There are simply no excuses!! TAKE YOUR KIDS!! They WILL be taking you someday!!

Hey Thanks Laura!!! nice to see some support for the “Chillins” We took our nephew Colton out fishing about a week ago, and brought him into your store over the weekend. I had him pick out the minnows and look for lucky tackle!! He had a great time, and caught some fish!! He got such a kick out of holding the air packed minnow bag, but was unable to get a count on the minnow while in the package!

Kudos to you Andy for getting Tucker Hooked on Fishing!! He’s a great stick, and obviously has a serious passion for the outdoors. This is one of my favorite photos of you two on your first Rainy Lake trip!!

As we all can see Chris is a great guide ( look at all the fish pictures with clients) , but I look deeper than that. I think kids need as many adult figures making a positive impact in ther lives. So when I hire guides I am not only looking for a knowledgable fisherman , but how is T-man going to gain. Oh ya and take lots of pictures this next picture is titled ” focus TUCKER”

Surely one of my favorite “Ice Moments” T-man sticks a big pike on a flag, and is plenty excited about the battle. The big Jack is ripping line out of his hands as we are scrambling to throw it line down the hole. Tuck in his pure excitement on multiple occassions apparently has forgot that he needs to keep tension on the line. TUCKER FOCUS had to be repeated several times!! LOL!! Great times, and GREAT FISH TUCK!! I believe you also caught a couple cans of Mt. Dew that day!!
