TAKE YOUR KIDS FISHING!!

As parents we owe it to our kids, and the fishing industry to get them “Hooked on Fishing”. I received a call a couple mornings ago from a couple staying in the Falls. They told me they heard that I was good with kids, and they really wanted their kids to catch fish. Unfortunately I didn’t have any openings during the daytime this week, so we elected to do a half day evening trip. 5 minutes into the trip the young gal set her St. Croix Tournament series into a 23.75 inch Walleye. We’re playing to win in the Skeeter!! Although she didn’t end up capturing big fish honors for the evening that certainly is a great fish!! This “Drag Screaming” battle opened the flood gates for the rest of the boat slamming eager walleyes under a mayfly scum off all things. I thoroughly enjoyed the intensity the kids fished with, and how quickly they learned to finesse our 3/16 oz. H20 Jigs into the hard mouths of our Rainy Lake Tanks!! Great trip team!! Please Take your kids “Catching”. We are VERY kid friendly, and work hard to ensure YOUR kids will become hooked on fishing much the same as we are!! Take a look at the beautiful Rainbow that served as the backdrop for our wonderful Walleye fishing!! Nights like that are simply priceless memories I’m sure that family will remember for a longtime!!

I agree totally. I have a 4 & 2 year old and the will be taking their first walleye trip to Leech in a month. I dont know who is more excited dad or the kids. My friends think its crazy that my 2 year old girl can always pick out the walleyes out of the cabelas fish tanks. Teach them to love fishing early that way when we are old we have someone to take us fishing. Great report Chris, love to see those smiles on kids faces.

I take my 3and half year old boy every time i can he has now claimed two of moms rods and does not like closed face reals now I knew he would get hooked when i found him fishing in the minnow bucket! We happen to have another boy due in september so another one to get hooked cant wait to fish with my boys!!!!

and u know how the saying goes… kids who fish trap and hunt don’t rob little old lady’s!

Here’s a few pics of my kids a couple weeks ago. My son “caught” his first walleye with grandpa’s help. He actually felt the bite before my dad and reeled it in until it was next to the boat. That’s when he thought it was a good time to jump up and down. We all kind of jumped up and down actually. Both kids love being in the boat.

Thats awesome Blackbay!! Thanks for sharing!! We’re so very fortunate to have this pristine body of water in our front/backyard!! Great job!! I’ve got a good friend coming up this weekend, and you can bet if there isn’t 40mph winds we’ll have him on the water!!
