After “I’ll Come up Last Minute when you’ve got an opening” Kept my dad off Rainy Lake for nearly 6 months we decided even “Dad-of-Daze” might need to be inked in Blood in the Guide Schedule to get his “Tank Fix”!! Funny in life how times change. Seems only yesterday I was tossing and turning all night awaiting our Saturdays fishing outing. So many years of having my dad and Grandpa taking a little kid with a smattering of handpicked pieces of tackle in my shiny silver tackle box out on the water. I always remember my grandpa buying the big chocolate bars, and PRAYING it wouldn’t be raining on Saturday!! BTW….. Dad thinks the new Glass boats….Pretty Cool!! Sitting in the easy chair on the back deck trying to look around the F250 listening to his favorite music on Sirius…PRICELESS!! Congrats on the tank walleyes Dad, and so much fun sharing the boat with you!!

I have to admit, it was pretty nice sitting in the passenger seat and watching Chris navigate & operate his new red & sparkly cruiser. Of course, the fishing was good and the country music was totally relaxing. It really makes me proud to see how a son who catches his first (wall mounter) walleye at the age of “5” progresses to his current level of lifetime achievements. Congratulations to both Chris & Cheryl on all that you have accomplished since you have become true lifetime partners in this world.

I vividly remember those sleepless nights before a fishing trip. I also remember like it was yesterday when I spent my own money on one LUCKY LURE. Do you remember after catching that big walleye that it got snagged up a couple casts later?? After you and grandpa tried to free it you let me try knowing it was a not coming out!! I believe this was before the SUPER lines!! I was demoralized having my “LUCKY LURE” GONE that I’d saved up my $$ for!! Heck I only had 4 things so far in that little silver tackle box, but rearranged them often times at home. Then when we moved spots grandpa called me to the front of the boat to witness “MR. Lucky” hooked on the anchor rope!! I was afraid to cast that the rest of the day!! LOL!! Good times!! Lifes journey is crazy fun!!

The Fishing Queen and I certainly feel lucky to live out a fishing dream on the shores of Rainy Lake! I wish everyone the joys of being hooked on life as well as fishing!!

I still haven’t lost the passion for the outdoors, and look forward to being on the water with the same desire as that 5 year old little boy!! I now get more pleasure helping others catch the bug, and I still get in that darn anchor rope every once in awhile!!

    Thanks for taking me fishing!!
