Always kind of looking of interesting noting the varios colors of Rainy Lakes Walleyes. Seems many fish have a different tint to them. We have a truly Black Backed walleye, an unbelievable Gold Walleye, Blue tinted walleye (Especially in the fins), and then the more traditional dull gray toned walleye. Tak a look at some of these different pics. We try target the pretty fish.

    That’s pretty interesting….

The closest I can relate is from Basswood lake in the BWCA. The fish that come out of the west side of the lake (Jackfish and Pipestone bays) are gold colored. The fish from the east side of the lake are typically lighter (silver, gray)in color.Im told thats because the bays on the west side of the lake are bog /river fed and relatively shallower than the east side of the lake.
