Congrats to Ido Member Matt Pistorio for his beautiful 28 inch walleye!! Our biggest Pike of the day went 13.5lbs. We caught mostly bigger walleyes with only a couple going under the 17-28 inch protective slot. Although we didn’t have the clicker going I’d say we landed 30-35 walleyes. In the pike category we caught (3) 5-6lb fish, 9lb,and 13lb with 35-40 small pike rounding out a LOT of action!! We also caught some Tank Smallies. Early in the year in many fishing locations the female walleyes are a bit seperated from the smaller males. If your shorelunch searching for eyes you’ll want to position yourself in some deeper haunts with wind action or current or you’ll just be frutrated wtih BIG FISH!! . We focused efforts for big walleyes and pike while getting on a heavy windblown area e with moderately aggressive fish. I say moderately aggressive as we CAUGHT them, but worked them very methodically with many boatside takes. Most fish were in the 22-25 inch class with the biggest taping 28 inches!! See you on the water team!! We’ll be the boat with the net out!!
