Thought I’d share some pics of some crappies I had mounted. Before the question is asked YES they were all skin mounted fish. All of my other fish I’ve done are replicas, but I felt a good skin mount on Panfish were a bit more to my liking for realistic outcomes. I had them mounted on wires in which I could manually pose based on my personal preference, and a timber background for them to inhabit. If you look very close you will see some of the Crappies are ready to strike CJS presentations. I thought it would be prudent to recognize CJS since every one of those slabs fell victim to either a Diamond Jig, Flu-Flu or Ratso!! Smallest fish was 15.5 inches with the biggest 16.5!! (2) 15.5’s (1) 15.75 (1) 16 (1) 16.25 (1) 16.5. Heaviest fish weighed 2lb 9oz. I’d like to also thank a valued customer by the name of Bill Archer who does taxidermy work in southern Minnesota for his masterful work on these very special fish to me. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome!! I’m hoping to get you a Bear after my visit with Pasha Lake this fall!! I felt if I was going to mount some crappies it would look much better with a small pod of fish since of most often school up. Very excited to get them up!! And NOW I’M JACKED for a little warm up to chase big papermouths!!
