Now that we have missed out on our ice fishing trip we need to make a plan B. What is the chance that the ice will be out by the weekend of 4/10? With the forecast next week I would think things would go pretty quick with the ice the way it is already but I don’t know how things usually go up there. Strange year so maybe early ice-out? What’s your thought?
From what I have seen and if the weather stays like they are forecasting, you will have a good shot at ice out by the weekend of the 10th.
Mother nature continues to throw curveballs into the fishing seasons, and it is a bit tough to predict what April will bring us in the way of weather. If trends stay the way they are I could see a mid April ice out. Still a bit hard to say. Here on Tilson Bay the current flow has opened up the bay in front of the fishing pier about 50 yards.
