DON’T FORGET…RAINY RIVER STURGEON

This time of year Rainy River gets stacked with walleyes and boats filled with fishermen. During this time if the walleye bite slows down switch rods and add a clump of nightcrawlers as bait and patiently wait for the rod tip to thump a few times. As the days go by and the walleye season closes, Rainy River seems to quite down a bite till walleye opener. During that time there is still fun to be had chasing the “old pre-historic” sturgeon. Its not alwasy the fasted action but it is hard to beat a 20 – 60 minute fit against a 40 50 60 maybe even a 60lbs plus sturgeon. Good luck to all that venture to Rainy River this spring wetting their lines and sipping their morning coffee waiting for that unforgetable tug on the other end!!!!

    2010 Sturgeon Excursion<<<

Hey Matt! If you get a chance and want to meet a bunch of Ido’ers stop on over to Wigwam Resort in April.

Also, it looks like you like fishing sturgeon. Stop on over the the catfish/sturgeon forum sometime. The guys are just starting to get wound up.

Open water to what, Clementson now?

I know I’m wound up. I’ve already had to wash my 2010 SE T-shirt twice.

PS Brian, wait until you see the multi directional custom rod holders. In the winter you can use them to move furniture around. Pure Genius. Of course, we’ll probably need your drill again.

Oh man I want to be up there so bad I could cry. What condition is the river? Is it open? Is it running high? Are the big ice floes coming down?

Save one for me. What did that big bruiser weigh?

Just isn’t enough time in the day. I’ve heard they are getting walleyes right now nearly up to Pelland. With the Cool down this weekend that SHOULD help keep the Little fork and Big fork from busting loose pushing mud down the Rainy. Good luck gentleman!! Put your Bumpers on your boats!!

Just talked to a customer who said the river is muddy. Could only see his jig about 8 inches down. Did poor, and looking to hit the sheet. Only one report, but thought I’d pass it on.
