Big slabs have had about enough of fellow Ido Pro Staff member Cal Svihel and his “Crappie Crew”!! What a fantastic couple days fishing with awesome guys. I truly feel blessed to be fortunate enough to love my work. Cal set a crappie trip up with me quite a ways back, and I was very anxious to fish with him. I knew he’d be a great stick on the ice, but what I wasn’t expecting was how good of fisherman the rest of the crew turned out to be also. What a fantastic group of simply FUN guys. I really had a blast fishing with you all, and love being the camera man. Watching you boys work fish with such intensity was really fun for me. I could see the burning desire to ice one of those infamous DONKS, and so happy you got it done. 4 guys get elected to the elite class of “Daze Donk Hunters” by posting crappies over the 15 inch threshold with many 12-14’s iced also. Huge whitefish, few walleyes, few pike, and lots of nice crappies. Kudos to the crew for keeping a few for a fish fry while releasing all the big fish. Look forward to another trip with you guys soon. Monster Pike, Fall Walleyes, Spring Slabs…..Whatever we’ll be th guys with the net out or fish flopping on the ice!!

Highlight of the trip for ME was watching 2 15 inch Crappies being fought and iced at the same time. Very Cool!! 2 Donk Hunters born……. DONK TWINS!!

2011 ice fishing dates for Monster Pike, Walleyes, and Slabs are starting to fill up. Get your boys in the action next year…..Smile as YOU’LL be on IDO!!

This trip was something I was waiting for all Ice season. It could not get here fast enough. Fellow IDO’ers if you get a chance or your on the fence about a guide trip with anyone in the state….I personally will pick Rainydaze. He has a passion to fish, he wants people to catch big fish and lots of them. He works his tail off to put you on fish and more importantly keep you on fish…He wants to make sure your enjoying your time on the ice/water. He is also very respectful towards his resources (right Larry). Our group fishes hard and we also play hard, Chris and his guide service fit right into our lifestyle, he is very knowledgeable of the fishery and history of the area. I know I will most likely speak for the entire group that this is a trip that we won’t forget, in fact we are planning on another trip.

Thanks again to Rainydaze guide service for the memories and big fish…..

Thanks Chris for a GREAT couple of days of pounding the hardwater!!! On the drive home, I couldnt stop flippin’ through my pictures on the camera to stare at those huge DONKS one more time!! Once you hold one of them in our hand, you can truly apprieciate what a special thing Chris has at Rainydaze! I know I can’t wait to go back up, it defineatly goes to the top of the list for a repeat trip. The highlight of the trip for me was when my brother and I laced into 15″ at the same time Thanks again to RAINYDAZE and the rest of the crew for making it a great trip

Thanks for the kind words guys. Your great fisherman, and guys that I love to fish with. As I mentioned my customer base is beginning to fill up with customers who have become great fishing friends. We do battle together. I’d go to battle with your team anyday!! There is so much appreciation on my behalf when customers respect what special fish we get to fish for. Doesn’t mean they always cooperate, but having the legitimate chance to ice Trophy Caliber fish is special in itself. Everytime I see that double lined Red Blob hovering at 5 feet on my Marcum I get pretty amped up. Never gets old. Can’t wait until our next trip!!

I’d like to add that Cal brought me up my new “Crappie Killer”. WOW!! a 36 inch stick which makes working crappies a dream. Really sensitive tip, yet very nice backbone. What a great stick Cal!! I know you mentioned Thorne Brothers has only made a few of these models, but for on ice Crappie trollin that is one awesome stick. I may very well have to retire my willow branches.
