As a spin off of a previous post entitled “Getting Kids In The Game” I thought it might be fun if we all took the time to put one pic of our kids, Grandkids, Friends Kids, Neighbors Kids……. enjoying fishing. Doesn’t need to be a monster fish pic, and for that matter doesn’t even need to be with a fish. Just in the boat with dad or mom having fun. Lets create a “In Depth Movement” to get those kids off the couch, and ON THE WATER!! Remember most little “Chilins” want a litte learning, and a LOT of fun!! Here’s a couple of my all time favorite pics of my daughter!!

Hey Laura…….If your following this thread I’m going to attempt to organize a Take the Kids fishing event here on Rainy Lake. Probably next February due to my scheduling conflicts. I’d like to involve our sponsors, and local guides to help with the event. Would you like to help promote through the One Stop?? I think it would be fun!!

These are a couple of my two. One is screaming for more bait and the other had a great time even with a broken leg. His reaction to catching the fish is priceless.

We could not be more excited to help with an event like this!!! I read an artical online yesterday about how take a kid fishing Clinics are being offered Saturday, Feb. 13, at Lake Bronson near Hallock, Lake Carlos near Alexandria and Bear Head Lake near Ely. Lake Bemidji State Park offers a Berrrmidji Kids’ Ice Fishing event on Sunday, Feb. 14. Kids ages 8-15 can join the Lake Bemidji State Park naturalist for an afternoon of perch fishing on Lake Bemidji. Hayes Lake State Park near Warroad offers its Ice Fishing Clinic on Saturday, Feb. 27.
I think Rainy Lake needs something like this and can not be more excited to get involed myself and for Rainy Lake One Stop.

Who could turn down a chance to show off there kids fishing?

The first is a pic of my boy just a few weeks ago with a nice sunny he caught, he set the hook and reeled it in all on his own. Hes 3 now. The next one is him a couple springs ago driving the boat. Third is my daughter with her secret minnow that she ended up with a nice perch on! Then the last is me and my daughter with a little pike she got on a spoon! It was one of those ones that comes out of nowhere hitting the spoon from under the boat just as your picking it out of the water. She was just a screaming and it was a fish Ill never forget!

i cant think of a better place on the planet to raise a 14 yr old!!! he gets off school, jumps on the wheeler and goes to the fish house till dark…and in the summer he jumps in his 14 footer with a 9.9 and fishes almost every day on rainy lake…and in the fall we grouse hunt and deer hunt till the ice is on…i told him that someday he might realize how good he has it…

I agree Phil!! The lake in our backyard is a priceless playground for our kids. I’m still like a kid exploring the endless lakes and woods. I have trouble sleeping when in the midst of a good bite, or the evening before a hunting trip. I often find myself referring to a certain bite or experience being my “Favorite”. LOL!! I guess I’ve come to realize it is difficult to pin anything as my favorite, yet I’m thrilled to be in the heart of the outdoors all 4 seasons!! Beyond introducing visitors to the biggest and baddest fish we have to offer I feel my love for the outdoors is easily transferred person to person, and there is no substitute for that. Fishing is fun PERIOD!!
